Volleyball team adds two recruits

Two women signed National Letters of Intent to play for St. Bonaventure' s volleyball team.

Joining head coach John Wasielewski's team are Kimber Ayers and Jacqueline Pidanick.

Ayers, a 5-foot-10-inch outside hitter, earned All-State and All-Conference honors her senior year while leading Corning West High School to the New York State Class B championship.

She plans to major in elementary education.

As a senior at Johnson City, Pidanick averaged 20 kills per game and lead her team in service aces per contest.

The 6-foot-2-inch middle hitter plans to major in physical education with a sports medicine minor.

Awards to be presented at men's basketball banquet

The annual St. Bonaventure University Men's Basketball Awards Dinner is scheduled for Monday at the SBU Clubhouse Restaurant at 7:30 p.m.

Awards for the Fr. Anselm Krieger Most Valuable Player, the Fr. Brian F. Lhota Memorial, the Ray Larson Most Improved Player, the Outstanding Defensive Player and the Scholar-Athlete will be presented.

Ticket prices are $15 per person or $25 a couple which includes dinner, beer and soft drinks.

The deadline for ordering tickets is today, and they will be sold at the Reilly Center Ticket Office and at the Sports Locker.
